Nell Mescal\u00a0<\/strong>unveils her deeply personal demo,\u00a0‘Thin<\/a>‘<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0today. After teasing the track for months with snippets on socials and intimate acoustic sets across the UK, it’s become a firm favourite. ‘Thin’<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0confronts the dark, damaging thoughts about body image and self-worth.\u00a0Nell explains<\/strong>, “Thin is about body image and equating what you look like to what your worth is when it comes to love. It was a really difficult song to write and to confront, and comes from all my darkest and most untrue thoughts about myself.”\u00a0She continues<\/strong>, “The ultimate message of the song and what I hope people get from listening to it is that these thoughts aren’t true, but that doesn’t make the emotions any less real and that you are enough as you are.”\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0

This marks Nell’s first release since her debut EP\u00a0Can I Miss It For A Minute?<\/em>, a collection exploring themes of growing up, moving on, and the tug-of-war between past pain and present emotions. Her cathartic singles,\u00a0Killing Time<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Warm Body<\/em>\u00a0set the stage for the EP, which sold out in less than an hour on exclusive vinyl and CD. Following sold-out debut headline shows in New York last month, a support slot with\u00a0Dermot Kennedy<\/em>\u00a0at\u00a0Misneach Festival<\/em>\u00a0in Boston, and a string of intimate acoustic performances, Nell is gearing up for a busy summer. She’s been added to a number of festivals and will support\u00a0Robbie Williams<\/em>\u00a0at Newcastle’s\u00a0Come Together Festival\u00a0<\/em>on June 4th. Nell’s relentless live presence has made her a force on the circuit. She’s graced festivals like\u00a0Latitude, All Points East,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Electric Picnic<\/em>, while also supporting major acts such as\u00a0HAIM, Florence & The Machine, Dermot Kennedy<\/em>, and\u00a0The Last Dinner Party<\/em>. Her January 2024 UK tour sold out in a flash, where Nell and her band performed EP tracks for the first time.
