Grammy Award-winning singer\/songwriter Peabo Bryson celebrates his life and 50 year musical legacy on the Golden Touch Tour through 2026. It will culminate with the release of his new album Grace produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis as well as a book, more details to be announced.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a soulful voice and romantic duets with Celine Dion, Roberta Flack and Regina Belle amongst others, Peabo became known as \u201cKing of the Balladeers,\u201d winning two Grammy Awards: \u201cBeauty and the Beast\u201d (1992) and \u201cA Whole New World\u201d(1993).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/span>But it almost came to an end in 2018 when Peabo suffered a massive heart attack. Saved by the heroic actions of his wife, who performed CPR for twenty minutes until help could arrive, Peabo Bryson has a second chance and lease on life.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0“It’s surreal. Most people don’t get to say they’ve had a five-decade career in anything, let alone music. But what makes it even more special is that I almost didn’t make it to see this milestone,\u201d Peabo reflects. “The Golden Touch Tour is a celebration – of survival, of 50 years of music, and of the incredible fans who have supported me through it all. We’ll span my entire career, but with a new energy that comes from knowing how precious each performance <\/a>really is.”<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/span>To celebrate 50 years, Peabo will release a new album Grace, produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis due in 2026. He will also release a book filled with stories spanning his 50 year career.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Peabo Bryson<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Born Robert Peabo Bryson on April 13, 1951 in Greenville, South Carolina, this world renowned balladeer got his start as the lead singer of Al Freeman & The Upsetters and Moses Dillard & The Tex-Town Display. In 1976, he released his debut LP, Peabo, on Atlanta\u2019s Bullet\/Bang label.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/span>Peabo had back-to-back gold albums with Capitol Records, Reaching for the Sky (1977) and Crosswinds (1978). During his relationship with Capitol, Peabo collaborated with label mate and friend Natalie Cole for the 1979 project We\u2019re the Best of Friends. A year later he worked with the phenomenal Roberta Flack for the double-LP Live & More (on Atlantic Records). Peabo delivered four more albums for Capitol before making a second, even bigger album with Ms. Flack titled Born to Love, a gold seller that featured the smash \u201cTonight I Celebrate My Love\u201d (Top 5 R&B and #16 Pop chart). Peabo soon moved over to Elektra Records for four albums, the second of which, Take No Prisoners featured the crossover smash \u201cIf Ever You\u2019re In My Arms Again\u201d (Top 10 Pop and R&B). <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/span>A return to Capitol in 1989 for the one-off album All My Love, earned Peabo his first R&B #1 single with a remake of the late Al Wilson\u2019s \u201cShow & Tell\u201d. He hit the top of the R&B charts a second time with the smash \u201cCan You Stop The Rain\u201d, the title track of one of his two chart topping albums with Columbia Records.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/span>It was with the help of very famous Disney animated films that Peabo earned his two Grammys and the songs two Oscars\u00ae: 1991\u2019s \u201cBeauty and the Beast\u201d, a duet with international pop singer Celine Dion which topped the pop charts; and with Regina Belle on \u201cA Whole New World\u201d (Aladdin\u2019s Theme) from Aladdin. Since these two milestones, Peabo has been even more sought after as a guest vocalist and duet partner, resulting in work with Tony Award-winner Lea Salonga on \u201cWe Kiss in the Shadows\u201d (#1 on the Classical Crossover chart from a new recording of \u201cThe King and I\u201d score) and Kenny G\u2019s \u201cBy The Time This Night is Over\u201d (from the chart topping Contemporary Jazz CD, Breathless).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/span>Peabo has also starred on stage in the lead role of \u201cRaisin,\u201d as The Wizard in \u201cThe Wiz\u201d and was featured in the Michigan Opera\u2019s 100th anniversary production of \u201cPorgy & Bess.\u201d  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/span>Beyond his own music, Mr. Bryson is looking to help nurture deserving new artists. \u201cI’d like to find some serious talent and give them wings,\u201d he states. \u201cAs far as I’m concerned, everything is going to get better,\u201d Peabo concludes. \u201cI’m feeling like I\u2019m in a really good place musically.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
